ANMA – Agence Nicholas Michelin
ANMA – The Nicholas Michelin agency is an architecture agency.
For architects, initial projects must be perceived as a grammar and always initiated based on the site and intended uses, consequently context in its broadest sense guides and functions in a way that will highlight specific themes.
In the eyes of ANMA, identity is linked to the approach and attitudes they propose for each project. The buildings are all different, but in them you can always find this particular grammar: an attitude as a starting point that leads to certain themes.
The social housing blocks built are economically designed. These units offer a different way of living: the inside and the outside are directly connected; the layout of the apartments is open and adaptable to the needs of the inhabitants, favoring neighborly relations.
The team encourages the diversity of building types and the social mix that generates a vibrant neighborhood, creating original perspectives. Furthermore, each project focuses on sustainable development and respect for the environment.
The aim is to create a new urban fabric adapted to the specific needs of citizens, emphasizing the idea of a place for urban life around certain themes. The main example are Les Bassins à flot.
One of the intentions that motivates the study is given by points of view that emphasize the interrelation between built space and public, while others focus on the emphasis on details.
The development project is a coherent whole that guarantees an identity and offers a pleasant diversity to live and practice.
Architects create a quality and contemplative landscape as a whole. Each project expresses its specificity to create a volumetric and plastic diversity.
It is a continuous dialogue between urban and social contexts, to enhance the spaces and create liveable housing in a correct way, re-evaluating the area under consideration, but which wants to be “brought to life” again.
