DRMM: healthy, prosperous and livable
DRMM is a London-based, international studio of architects and designers founded in 1995.
They are renowned for creating architecture that is innovative, high quality and socially useful.
The DRMM projects are led by site, client needs, concept and construction, rather than formulaic or style-based decisions.
London is a series of vibrant, characterful and connected neighbourhoods. DRMM’s proposition imagines a healthy, prosperous and live-able London, starting now.
Changes in climate, technology, mobility are inevitable, nonetheless; challenges could persist. How can we enable the public to participate, creating a sense of ownership, belonging and togetherness?
Studio’s approach all housing, be it single dwelling or an apartment block, with the same aspiration: to create homes with identity, imbuing them with domestic joy through colour, wit and imagination.
The team believe that the creation of homes with enduring value begins with a keen interest in the end user’s lived experience. For this reason apartments are designed to maximise space, light with big views and efficient lay-outs to maximise usable space.
In large-scale residential projects, socially and privately owned, always seeks to promote community cohesion by making small residential conurbations a feature of their design.
This allows the residents to come together and make the neighborhood thrive. Basically, they are pragmatic but innovative; they often use “ready to use” products with surprising effects.
Since 2000 has pioneered the use of materials processing techniques relevant to 21st century architecture.
Architecture can make an important contribution not only to the development of the context but also of a community. The architects aspires to this.
